Delegation from Gujarat to Meet Leading Companies and Senior Government Officials in China and Hong Kong

News Delhi: The Embassy of India, Beijing; The Consulate General of India, Shanghai; The Consulate General of India, Guangzhou; The Consulate General of India, Shenzhen; are organizing roadshows and Business-to-Business (B2B) Meetings, hosting a high-level Vibrant Gujarat Delegation, which is visiting China under the auspices of the Government of Gujarat from 17th to 20th October 2016. Followed by roadshows and Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings in Hong Kong from 21st to 22nd October 2016 organized by The Consulate General of India, Hong Kong in association with India China Chamber of Commerce & Industry and The Indian Chamber of Commerce, Hong  Kong.

The Vibrant Gujarat Delegation will comprise representatives of over 20 reputed companies from various sectors (including Business/Technology Tie ups between Hong Kong & Gujarat, promotion of investments into Gujarat, Energy, Polymers, Petrochemicals, Engineering, Renewable Energy, Chemicals, Technology & software Solution, Education etc.) in addition to representatives of the Government of Gujarat and Indian Chambers.

The Vibrant Gujarat roadshow is aimed to strengthen the economic and social ties between the countries and to promote Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017. With the theme of “Gujarat – Connecting India to World”, the roadshow will feature various activities involving leading companies of China and Hong Kong, industry associations and government officials, strengthening the cause of development and will promote cooperation between China, Hong Kong and the State of Gujarat. The delegates will apprise about some of the investor-friendly policies, the robust industrial ecosystem and single window clearance procedures that Gujarat offers, making it one of the most sought after investment destinations globally. Gujarat was ranked number 1 in “Ease of Doing Business” in 2015 among all states of India in a joint study by the Government of India and World Bank.

Leader of the delegation, Mr. Sanjay Prasad, IAS, Principal Secretary, Agriculture & Cooperation Department, Government of Gujarat said “Our delegation’s objective is to strengthen relationship between China, Hong Kong and India where Gujarat will play a key role by offering avenues across various sectors to further enhance business relationships between the countries. With some big projects planned in the state of Gujarat, the expertise of these countries in areas like to Electrical Equipment, Precision Engineering, Infrastructure, Textiles, Auto & Auto Parts, Manufacturing of Building Materials, Solid Waste/ Waste Water, Financial Services, Renewable Energy, Ports, Industrial Associations, Infrastructure, Plastics Textiles and Engineering, Real Estate, Financial Services, Renewable Energy, Retail name a few can play a significant role.”

The state of Gujarat is looking forward to host China and Hong Kong delegation of Government officials and businessmen at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017.

China is among the major participants in the Vibrant Gujarat Summit. This year also it is expected that for the Vibrant Gujarat 2017 also, there shall be major participation by Chinese companies and officials from the Chinese central Government and the provincial administrations.
