Jet Airways has announced on Friday the launch of its in-flight wireless streaming entertainment service through which travelers can stream content directly on their own devices like cell phones, tablets and laptops.
Jetscreen will be available on domestic flights. It comprises 220 hours of video and audio contents like Hollywood and Bollywood movies, TV shows, music from multiple genres, interactive games along with children’s programmes.
The beginning of streaming is the initial step in Jet Airways plan to ultimately convert its in-flight entertainment experience into a full-fledged, broadband enabled Wi-Fi connectivity which will allow travelers to surf the internet, send emails, browse social media, get connecting flight information, real time travel services and destination deal.
“As of now, JetScreen is live on six of our 75 narrow-body aircraft, and we hope to commence the facility on all our planes (narrow-body) by March. These facilities are accessible on two of our Delhi-Mumbai flights, apart from one each on the Delhi-Bangkok and Delhi-Lucknow sectors and two in the Southern sectors,” said Colin Neubronner, Jet senior vice-president for sales & marketing.
